A calm space for your daily practice.
Privacy policy
NextEleven LLC · Updated October 15, 2026
This policy explains how Mihrab handles information when you use its free prayer, Quran, Qibla and personal tools. Mihrab has no ads, purchases or subscriptions.
Who is responsible
Mihrab is provided by NextEleven LLC. Contact nextelevenstudios@gmail.com for privacy questions or requests.
Your local information
Mihrab stores your selected city and settings, bookmarks, reading position, prayer and fasting history, tasbih progress and other personal tool values on your device. These records can reveal religious practice. Mihrab does not automatically send these records or the contents of backups to NextEleven.
There is no Mihrab sign-in or automatic synchronization of personal records between devices. Local data is not protected by a separate Mihrab encryption layer; your device provides its own security. Keep your device and any exported backups protected.
Location, direction and alerts
You can select a city from the offline list without granting location permission. If you choose to use your location, Mihrab requests foreground location access to obtain coordinates for prayer and Qibla calculations on the device. The app does not request background location permission. Compass readings are used on the device.
Notifications and exact-alarm permissions are optional and are used for the prayer alerts you configure. Audio playback may continue through an Android media-playback foreground service when you choose to listen in the background.
Opening Google Maps
Nearby Mosques opens Google Maps or a browser only after you choose Search in Google Maps. Mihrab sends a search containing the selected city, region and country name. It does not supply device coordinates or a GPS origin in that search URL. Google Maps may use information available through its own permissions, account and privacy settings.

Optional online content and audio
Quran word meanings and tafsir are requested through NextEleven’s study server hosted by Vercel, which authenticates to Quran Foundation. NextEleven and Vercel receive ordinary request information, including your IP address and the chapter, language and source requested. Requested content can indicate which material you opened. The app does not send bookmarks, prayer/fasting history or backup contents in these requests. Provider credentials remain on the server, not in the app.
Hosting and content providers process request information under their own service and privacy policies. The study server sends the selected content request to Quran Foundation using its server connection; it does not forward your original IP address in that request. Other optional content and audio downloads can contact Quran CDN, EveryAyah, Hisn al-Muslim, jsDelivr or AlQuran Cloud directly, exposing your IP address and requested resource to those providers. Vercel also derives approximate city/country location from IP addresses. This is separate from the GPS coordinates used locally for prayer and Qibla calculations. Study downloads use Quran Foundation Content Sync. Mihrab checks downloaded resources for updates daily when used online. Previously synced copies remain readable during connection outages; updates resume when a connection is available. Downloaded public study resources are stored as complete, versioned copies with provider sync checkpoints. Updates and removals are applied before a new successful checkpoint is saved. Old regular-response study caches are retired; this does not delete bookmarks, worship records, bundled reading text or recitation audio. Online availability and content may change. Source credits are available in More → Sources & verification.
Free access and no ads
The entire Mihrab app is free to use. It has no paywall, trial, in-app purchases, subscriptions, advertising SDK or purchase-verification SDK. Mihrab does not start RevenueCat or send it new purchase or device information in this release.
Earlier private QA builds used RevenueCat Test Store for testing; this was not a public paid release. If you previously contacted support about a test record, email nextelevenstudios@gmail.com for help. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or private worship records.
Exports, deletion and retention
Export and restore are actions you choose. A backup can contain your settings, selected location and personal records. Mihrab does not encrypt the exported JSON file. The recipient or storage service you select controls its copy; delete exported files separately when you no longer need them. Android automatic app backup is disabled in the current Android app.
To remove local app data on Android, use the device Settings → Apps → Mihrab → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall Mihrab. This removes this installation’s app data; keep an export first if you need it. Device manufacturers may use different menu names. Other copies you exported are separate.
We handle deletion requests for records we control and explain any applicable limits, including legal, tax, fraud-prevention or transaction-retention obligations. Independent content providers and app stores control their own records under their policies. Local entries remain until removed from the app or device; downloaded content and exports have their own copies.
Support and policy changes
Emailing support sends us the message and any attachments you choose to include. Send only what is needed to explain the issue. We do not automatically attach your backup or personal records. Contact us about support correspondence or privacy requests, including concerns about a child’s information.
We may update this policy when app behavior or providers change. The date above identifies this version. Material changes will be reflected in the app’s disclosures and store information as appropriate.
